Live streaming refers to the delivery of media, broadcast and recorded in real time, to viewers over the internet. Live streams can contain various types of content such as events (eg. concerts, sports), how to videos or product introductions, on location behind the scenes, etc. For businesses and organizations, live streams are a way to interact with your current and potentials clients in a raw and authentic form. Live streams can be incredibly polished but the ones that tend to do the best, are those that allow viewers to see you as you would appear in reality. Depending on the platform, live streams also allow immediate interaction, engagement and feedback both from and to your viewers. You can put those social listening skills to the test by reacting immediately to comments and queries that you may receive, directly in your live stream. We’ve shared a live stream on live streams, on one of the more popular platforms – Facebook Live. We touch on some of the key features of live streams and how they can be used effectively as a social media tool. Notice the raw, unedited format of the video – we certainly aren’t polished at all but that lends a real authenticity to the content.
